• VeChain has announced that they will be sponsoring the Gartner Supply Chain Planning Summit
  • The summit will see VeChain exposed to C-level executives from Fortune 2000 companies

VeChain has been quite busy these last few weeks. A few days ago, they announced a partnership with DNV GL and Haier that would see them embedded into the world’s first apparel lifecycle tracking platform. A few weeks before that they partnered with BMW.

Now, they have scored another coup by announcing on April 3, 2019, that they will be sponsoring the Gartner Supply Chain Planning Summit. The announcement was made via Twitter by Will Mercorella, who is affiliated with the company.

As per the announcement, the summit will be bringing together Fortune 2000 enterprise Supply Chain Directors and will take on such topics as Supply Chain Visibility, Customer Collaboration, and Advanced Data & Analytics.

Supply Chains and Blockchains

As Jason Rockwood, the country manager of VeChain pointed out on twitter, sponsoring this event is a great way to publicize VeChain and blockchain in general to C-level executives and decision makers within the supply chain industry.

He also went on to point out that there is a natural fit between VeChain/DNVGL and supply chain, which made the event natural to attend. The natural fit extends beyond VeChain and covers all of blockchain as well. If any industry has been quick to utilize the many capabilities of blockchain, it has been the supply chain industry for everything from food to precious jewels.

This is because the supply chain in itself is quite complex and requires the recording of information across many different locations and stages. Also, they are one of the Industries most prone to counterfeiting and so on. By making use of blockchain, irrevocable ledgers are created that make it possible to trace each item effectively back to its source and prevent fakes from flooding the market.

While the use of blockchain has been steadily rising in the supply chain industry, sponsoring a summit on the scale of Gartner Supply Chain Planning Summit could take it to the next level by exposing its capabilities to top executives in various companies.

This could also be indicative of more things to come between VeChain and Gartner as Will Mercorella stated on twitter that he “can not wait for VeChain to be engulfed in the Gartner Ecosystem.”
