- Partnership aims to boost both brands
- Both firms have millions of users
- Collaboration shows the potential of blockchain technology
The blockchain-based browser Brave has announced a partnership with blockchain-based encyclopedia Everipedia. The partnership will be a co-marketing agreement that will run campaigns whose focus will be to popularize both brands in the cryptosphere.
Towards A Deeper Collaboration
According to the announcement via a press release on October 30, 2019, the partnership will see a campaign aimed at boosting both brands among their respective communities and is the first step towards a deeper collaboration. Everipedia joined Brave in August 2019 and with the new partnership, users of the Brave platform can support Everipedia from their browsers with Brave Rewards.
Brave runs a reward scheme that enables users to share Basic Attention Token (BAT) with websites they consider being valuable. Users receive BAT tokens every single time a user watches an ad from Brave Rewards. According to the new agreement, Everipedia will promote featured articles about Brave and Brave-related content. Commenting about it, Brave CEO and co-founder Brendan Eich stated:
“This partnership highlights the importance of innovative products that reward user attention and participation. Brave offers privacy and an integrated wallet that rewards users and supports content creators. By working with Everipedia, we are using the power of blockchain to put users in control of their experience.”
What this means is that verified publisher Everipedia will promote articles relating to Brave browser while Brave will carry Everipedia ads on its platform. All articles relating to Brave community will be featured on Everipedia’s homepage besides being promoted on their social media pages. Brave believes that the partnership will help users control their reading experience with Brendan Eich adding:
“Brave offers privacy and an integrated wallet that rewards users and supports content creators. By working with Everipedia, we are using the power of blockchain to put users in control of their experience.”
Both Everipedia and Brave have millions of active users and this announcement is likely to create excitement for the projects ecosystem and the entire blockchain industry since the two services are very large blockchain promoters. Commenting on the development, Everipedia Co-founder and CEO Theodor Forseilus stated:
“Brave and Everipedia are both early examples of how blockchain technology is changing our lives […] we provide an uncensorable knowledge layer for the world and Brave protects our information while browsing. This partnership is a natural extension of our vision to enable free, safe and accessible access to information using blockchain technology.”
The partnership goes to show the potential of blockchain technology with Brave offering a faster-cluttered web experience with a good share of revenue and Everipedia using the technology to provide unbiased information that can be integrated to services across the world.
